What Is a Shelf Corporation (Aged Corporation)?
By Zero Point Capital · Updated
What you actually get
An existing legal entity with its original formation date. Ownership is transferred to you, and state records, registered agent and officer information are updated.
What entity age does not do
An older formation date does not create revenue, tax filings, bank history or a payment record. Lenders and underwriters review real operating activity, and an aged entity does not bypass their review.
Checks before acquiring
Confirm the entity is in good standing, review its filing history, verify it has no liabilities, liens or prior activity you'd inherit, and make sure ownership transfer is properly documented.
